The Sandalwood is a small, evergreen tree native to tropical Asia. Its soft wood was traditionally used in the construction of Hindu temples because of its attractive aroma. Now Indian sandalwood is being protected from extinction, and most sandalwood comes from other places in the world.
Even though red sandalwood is not as intensely fragrant as sandalwood, it is a beautiful deep brown redish wood that also smells good and has a very smooth surface.
