Rudra is another name for Shiva and Aksha means 'tear'. It is Believed that the Rudraksha seed originated from the tears of Lord Shiva. He had been meditating for many years for the welfare of all beings. On opening the eyes, tears rolled down and Mother Earth gave birth to Rudraksha trees.
As per the Vedic scriptures, Rudraksha can nullify the effects of malefic planets to a great extent. No other necklace or bead is as auspicious and powerful as a Rudraksha Mala.
